How To: Make Tea Coasters
These are inspired by the tea coasters Kirstie Allsopp made.
You Will
Need:
As many
tiles as you wish, depending on how many tea coasters you make. These Tiles should be 10 x 10 cm.
Pictures from old Comics or Magazines (You will have to cut
these out yourself).
PVA glue (the amount
of glue depends on how many coasters you make).
Felt
Varnish
2 Old Paint Brushes
How To Make
The Coasters
First cut out pictures of magazines or comics.
Then, cover your tile in glue and stick the pictures you have
cut out onto the tile, do this on the front, sides and overlap a tiny bit on
the back.
Now cover the tile with the PVA glue using one of your brushes. If your picture/s has quite thin paper, cover the tile in glue 3 times, do this by putting on 1 coat then leaving it to dry then do the same with the 2 other coat.
.
Once the glue is dry cover the tile in varnish using the other brush. Leave the varnish to dry before adding another coat.
Now cut the felt into a square that fits perfectly on the back of the tile using felt scissors.
Your tile is now done.
