The Colour of Bee Larkham's Murder by Sarah J. Harris - Book Review

This is the sixth book that I read during lockdown.

"The Colour of Bee Larkham's Murder" follows the story of Jasper, a 13 year old boy with Synesthesia, who witnesses the murder of his neighbour Bee Larkham.

At first this took me a while to get into the book but once I got into it, I couldn't put the book down. The book is beautifully written as you begin to see the world as Jasper does seeing colours and shapes as people talk and how beautiful parakeets sound to him. We follow the story as Jasper recounts his story from the day Bee Larkham moves in and their evolving friendship to the day she is murdered. He must remember what happened exactly that night in order to find out what happened.

8/10 - This book was fascinating, I loved the imagery as Jasper hears sounds. The book is split between Jasper remembering his time with Bee Larkham and chapters of what's happening in the present, in a way that is easy to follow and understand.
